I used to gather mushrooms after rain and thunder in the Philippines. I found these mushrooms under the tree, here in Canada in my backyard. I love to cook these with mint and chives, but still - I am not sure if these are edible. Anyone knows?
Angelina, I asked around the Edible Wild: Plants/Fruits/Mushrooms group on Facebook & these links were shared with me.
ReplyDeleteOne thought they looked like ones they had eaten (http://www.first-nature.com/fungi/agaricus-campestris.php), but said you should check the spore print (http://www.mushroomexpert.com/spore_print.html).
Another added this "A brown spore print and make sure there is no smell of creosote, or obvious yellow staining upon bruising the flesh."
The main point was that no one felt comfortable confirming or denying whether they are edible unless they had them in their hands to check everything.
